Gates: Saturday, April 4, 2009. She is survived by her husband, Edwin G. Kruse; daughters, Sharon (Bernie) Horwitz and Gail (Ronald) Smithski; four grandchildren, Robin (Maureen) Horwitz, Dina (David) Zeplin, Tina (David) Flynn and Brenda Horwitz; four great-grand-children, Danielle Zeplin, Zachary Flynn, Aiden Flynn and Xavier Horwitz; Iona's very special childhood friend, Alice Merle of Attica, NY.
Iona went to Attica Central School in Attica, NY, and transferred to Rochester School for the Deaf. She graduated from RSD in 1937. Iona was a member of Rochester School for the Deaf Alumni Association, and also was a member of the Methodist Church in Attica, NY, where she was born.
At her request, calling hours will not be observed, and the courtesy of no flowers. All services will be private with family only in Attica, NY. Expressions of sympathy may be directed in her memory to the Rochester School for the Deaf, 1545 St. Paul St., Rochester, NY 14621 in Iona's memory.
