Jack Robert Otto, 91 of Rochester went to be with the Lord on Nov. 23rd passing away peacefully in the presence of his two sons Dale and Brian.
Jack was born on Feb. 25th, 1929 to Sam and Rose (Patchen) Otto, the first of six children. He graduated from Monroe High School and served in the US Army from 1950-1952 in Alaska before becoming an asbestos worker/pipe coverer in Anchorage AK.
He married his wife Dorothy Nellie Frelier (pre-deceased 2004) while in Alaska in 1951 and returned to Rochester in 1954 following the birth of their first son. Jack then studied Landscaping/Horticulture at SUNY Farmingdale and worked in this field until returning to the Asbestos Workers trade in Rochester in the 1960's, where he served as president for a time.
A strongly independent and proud father, Jack was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt.
He was very active in supporting the Rochester Christian School, loved to spend time with his family and was widely known for his penchant for story telling.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents as well as brothers Robert and David.
He is survived by sister Josina McCarroll (Al), Dorothy Bisig (Al) and brother Sam II (Nellie), his loving sons Dale Kenneth (Paula) and Brian Keith (Nancy), Grandchildren Haley Muir Bonczyk (Jon), Alyssa Nell, Great grand children Karis Eileen and Sutton Esme' as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Per Jack's request his ashes will be spread over the southern tier NY where he loved to hunt.
