West Irondequoit-Jack Milton Palmer, 100, passed away on Monday, September 6, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.
Jack was born in Findley, OH, on February 20, 1921 to the late George and Ruth Palmer. Jack served his country honorably in the United States Army, during WWII where he fought during the Invasion of Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge. After his military service he went on to work for the United Iron Workers Union, Local 33, for over 40 years. During his tenure he oversaw the apprentice program.
He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Marguerite Palmer, his son, Terry Palmer, his grandson, Joshua Palmer; and his sister, Margaret Wohlever.
He is survived by his beloved son, John (Linda) Palmer, his brothers, Buck (Carol) Palmer, and Ron (Marie) Palmer, and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Ave., Rochester, NY on Saturday, September 11, 2021, from 12:00pm-2:00pm, with a service to immediately follow. Burial at Sampson Veterans Cemetery will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
