Greece: After a long illness passed away Friday January 2, 2009 at age 78. He was predeceased by grandson, James East 2nd. Survived by his loving wife of 51 years Jean (Smith); sons, Daniel (Susan), Alan; daughters, Michelle (James) Eckert, Sandra (Keith) Vickers -Clovis; 12 grandchildren, Daniel (Samantha), Denine, Amanda (Gordon), Matthew, Kathy (Matt), Steven, James, Christina, Kristin, Julie, Kailey, Nick; 2 great grandchildren, Lily & Daniel; sisters, Mae Scruggs of NC, Judy Erskine of SC, brothers, Boyd & Joseph also of SC.
The family will receive friends Sunday January 4 from 3-7 PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 2636 Ridgeway Avenue. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday January 5 at 11:30 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 3003 Dewey Avenue. Interment White Haven Memorial park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Unity Health Foundation Dialysis Unit, 1555 Long Pond Rd., Rochester, NY 14626.
