Rochester: Passed away suddenly on Monday, December 6th 2021 at age 67. Predeceased by his parents, Raymond & M. Vivian Bauersmith; nephew, Matthew Bauersmith. He is survived by his loving wife, Stacie Lynn Bauersmith (Clauss); daughters, Jennifer (Shane) Rzechula, Jill Bauersmith; step-children, Amanda (Brandon) Jackson and Michael Billingsley; siblings, Eileen (Anthony Armignacco) Bode, Thomas (Joni) Bauersmith, Nancy Pool and Laraine (Richard) Randolph; mother-in-law, Helen Kramer; father-in-law, David Clauss; brother-in-law, Jeffrey (Aimee) Clauss; grandson, Cole Rzechula; step-grandsons, Brandon Jackson Jr., A'mare Jacques & Malachi Jackson; step-granddaughter, Taylor Backmann; nephews & nieces, Brian Bode, Darlene (Richard) White, Lee Ann (Stephen) Carey, Daniel Bauersmith, Katherine (Christopher) Tarkulich & Kevin Pool; step-nephews and step-nieces, Melissa (Kevin) Halbert, Jeffrey, Justin & Emily Clauss; great nephews & great nieces, Brendan and Christopher Bode, Emily and Kaylee White, Tabitha Coolbaugh, Ariel Carey, Graham and Iris Tarkulich; step-great nephew, Mason Halbert and step-great niece, Madison Halbert; and several other relatives and great friends Jim crossed paths with along the way.
Jim had an absolute heart of gold. First and foremost, he loved to help people. He had an insatiable quest for knowledge and loved solving problems. He loved showing off his amazing cooking skills for his family and friends, bird watching, feeding and identifying and gardening to revel in nature, reading (especially about cooking, mechanics, and architecture), learning to can foods, and spending time with his family. He was an incredible father to Jennifer and Jill, and a loving and devoted husband to Stacie Lynn. He will be missed by all those who were lucky enough to get the chance to know him.
Jim's family will receive friends on Saturday, December 18th 2021 from 11am-12pm, with a service to follow at 12pm at the funeral home, 2636 Ridgeway Avenue, Rochester, New York 14626.
