EAST ROCHESTER- James Richard Boyle, 97, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2019 with his loving wife by his side.
Jim was born in Canandaigua, NY on July 3, 1922 to the late William and Mary Boyle. Jim served his country honorably in the United States Air Force during WWII. After his military service he began his education at St. Bonaventure, and Fordham Law School. He served as director of The Legal Aid Society of Monroe County.
Jim is predeceased by his sister, Eleanore, his brothers, William (Rita), and Robert (Ruth), his first wife, Ida, and his son-in-law, Bruce Smith.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Jacqueline Boyle, his children, Dianne Boyle, Eric (Rosa) Boyle, and Lisa Smith, his step-children, Craig (Michelle) Chapman, and Patrick (Nadine) Chapman, Mark (Jacklyn) Van Husen, his eleven grandchildren, Lauren, Joshua, James, Julia, Madeline, Alexander, Sara, Hailey, Jazmin, Mia, and Kyla, his brother, Richard (Judith), and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 6 Empire Blvd, Rochester, NY 14609, on Thursday, August 15, 2019 from 4:00pm-7:00pm. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Jerome Church, 207 Garfield St., East Rochester, on Friday, August 16, 2019, at 9:00am. Burial will be held at White Haven Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Jim's name to The Legal Aid Society.
