Jimmy passed into eternal life, January 5, 2025 at the age of 80.
Born February 4, 1944, Jimmy grew up in Rochester, N.Y. He loved baseball from a young age and was an amazing left-handed pitcher from little league past high school. He even pitched a couple of "no hitters' back in the day and made try outs for the Pittsburgh Pirates farm teams minor league division in the early 1960's.
He was drafted to Vietnam in 1965 and served his country honorably as a combat medic 1/7 CAV, 1st CAV Division.
Jimmy had an uncanny way of remembering dates, names and sports statistics. An avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Penguins and the Baltimore Orioles.
He loved his family his friends and his country. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
Survived by his wife Sharon. Twin daughters, Donna (TJ) Hoy, Deborah (Tim) Howard. Grandchildren, Justin Hoy, Bailey (Hunter) Steele, Thomas and Sarah Howard. Sister, DorothyAnn (Frank) Frisch. Brothers, Thomas, Daniel, and Fr. Richard Farrell. Several nieces, nephews and very dear friends.
Per Jimmy's request, there will be no prior calling hours or funeral service.
Friends may make contributions in lieu of flowers to The Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 20, P.O. Box 12580 Rochester, NY 14612 in Jimmy's memory.
