James Ray Hanselman

August 5, 2020 at age 94.

He is predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth Grace of 66 years.

He is survived by one son, James Hanselman, three daughters, Donna Stutzman, Carol Hartman, and Lorie Tanner; three grandsons, Jeffrey Stutzman, Ethan and Colin Tanner, three granddaughters, Heather Wagstaff (Stutzman), Jenna and Megan Hanselman and one great grandson, Brody Alexander Wagstaff.

On March 8th, 1926, James Ray Hanselman was born to Ray and Ruth Hanselman in Rochester, N.Y.. He grew up in Williamson, N.Y. on a farm with his brothers, Paul, John and George. James attended #19 School. At the age of eight years old, March 2nd, 1953, he attended Faith Tabernacle on St. Paul and Scranton Street where he knew his wife at the age of three and had his first ministry. James mother was his wife's Elizabeth's Sunday school teacher.

He started at Eastman Kodak Company in 1943 as a tray stock for one and a half years before he served in the Navy on the USS St. Paul as a gunners mate in WWII from 1944-1946. After serving in the Navy, he lived with George Shea for one year and lived with Ruth and June Cherry for one year. On May 1, 1948 he married Elizabeth Grace Allen (Shea). He returned to Kodak in 1946 as an expeditor for the Superintendent's office at Hawkeye and administrative assistant for special machinery and assembly department at Elmgrove Plant for 13 years.He was President of Hawkeye Recreation Association for 1 year. He was manager of the Kodak Softball Team for many years and served as a Senior Vice Commander of the VFWS, Rick Hallick, Post 5465, in Henrietta, N.Y. for 6 years. After retirement from Kodak in 1981 he worked for the Brighton School district as a bus driver until the age of 71.

He was a faithful Sunday school superintendent, deacon, elder, board member and worked in the finance department of Faith Church and served communion. He was a manager of the first softball team for Faith Church and received the first trophy. He planned and organized many picnics for the church, a member of the Jubilee Plus and served as an administrative assistant to Pastor Laurena Pyle.

He was a faithful husband, father and friend. He was a helper, servant, and to many, a father to others.
