James learned to trust and depend on God at an early age and accepted the Lord as his personal savior. James attended Adams Street Church of God by Faith, where he served as a Sunday School Teacher, Public Relations, Men's day coordinator, and most commonly known as Deacon and later became the Chairman. James loved Adams Street. Regardless of his location, he would always find a route that led past the church. He also served in ministry on the District and National levels of Church of God by Faith, Inc.
Bubba was so proud of his service to his country and would become excited when he would encounter another fellow Veteran and would recite his General Orders. His casual attire would always include his Korean Veterans cap which would draw honor, praise and appreciation for his time of service. Bubba was honored to take part in the Honor Flight, where Veterans meet in Washington, DC to reflect on their time served.
Bubba never encountered a stranger. When he would greet people, he had a special way of making everyone feel special and made them feel like he was so excited to see them. He will be immensely missed by all who knew him.
