James H Kane
April 13, 1938 — December 9, 2017
Age 79, suddenly on December 9, 2017. Jim stoically lived with and defied Parkinson's Disease for over 25 years with his dry sense of humor and wit.
Predeceased by parents, "Big Jim" and Janet Kane; sister and brother-in-law, Wendy and Danny Garlock; sisters Janice Lucia and Diane Kleindienst; father-in-law and mother-in-law Dick and Kay Stahlberger; best friend, Bob Whiting, and many other friends.
Jim was a loving husband to Sue, his wife of 26 years. He is also survived by his daughter, Erin Kane-Baldwin, of Darien, CT, and three granddaughters, Sarah, Clare, and Paige Baldwin; brother Garry (Rose) Kane; brothers-in-law Fred Lucia and Sean Cronin; brother-in-law Mike (Sheila) Stahlberger; sister-in-law Mary (Brian) Bannister; several dear nieces and nephews; stepmom Norma Kane; stepmom-in-law Barb Stahlberger; loving cousins-in-law; close friends Gabe Campa and Bill Cochran; and many long-time friends.
Jim grew up in Fairfield, CT. After college he worked for Branson Industries as a sales engineer, eventually transferring to Rochester. He later founded Holly Industrial, was a manufacturers' rep for many years, and property manager for Maguire Properties. He retired in 2008.
Jim was a life-long tennis player and member of the Tennis Club of Rochester where he enjoyed many hours of tennis, beers, and laughs with his buddies. He and Sue shared special times over the years with their friends and neighbors at "987" and with their families in SC, CT, FL, CA, and AZ.
A memorial service is being planned for the Spring.
