James McGee, 78, of Hilton, NY passed away on January 12,2022.
He passed away peacefully in Rochester's Unity Hospital due to post complications of hip surgery. HEH? As he was famous for saying. He recently went through some health conditions, but his stubbornness didn't stop him from getting his new hip before he left this world.
Jimmy was born in Albion, NY to his parents James and Irene McGee. He grew up in Holley, NY with his brother Pat and sister Barb. They could go on for days with stories of their upbringing. At the young age of 22, he was drafted into the army during the Vietnam War, where he served our country for 2 very long years. He then landed a job with General Motors, where he was well known for rotating naps.
One of Jimmy's biggest accomplishments was being a father. He would say he considered himself lucky enough to have three beautiful daughters. His girls, Colleen, Tracy, and Shannon, called their dad a superhero, and even as adults, still seen him that way. He was always there for them through their ups and downs and taught them to enjoy every moment life has to offer.
Fast forward to the one where he met Mary and they fell in inseparably love. His family grew and so did his heart. Being a kind and dependable husband and father was of the utmost importance to Jimmy and he certainly did not disappoint when it came to wholeheartedly loving his family. The two of them were very devoted to their church and lives of those around them.
In addition to his wife Mary McGee, he is survived by; his daughters; Colleen Hawkins and her partner David Moyer, Tracy Self and her husband Danny Self, Shannon McGee, Stepdaughter Janice Dixey King (and her Husband Richard King), Stepsons, Barry Dixey and his wife Sandy Dixey),Dan Dixey and his wife Sue Dixey),David Dixey (deceased) and Mike Dixey and his wife Jan Dixey), Sister Barb Howard and her husband Dick Howard. He was preceded in passing by his brother Pat McGee. Along with many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family. Jimmy was a loving father, husband, grandfather, and friend to everyone.
