Passed away peacefully on October 20, 2022 at the age of 88.
James was born in Carbondale, Pennsylvania on January 10, 1934. He moved to Rochester, New York for work in the 1950's. He was the youngest of five children.
Predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Mary A. (Bonin); parents, Albin & Catherine; sister, Elizabeth, & brothers, Albin, Daniel, and Jerome Morris.
James was a loving, devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather & great-grandfather. He was hard working & generous. He is survived by his children, James (Angel) Morris, Catherine (Thomas) Brust, Mary (Stephen) Podhorecki, Patricia Morris, Michael (Pamela) Morris, & Jennifer Hull; grandchildren, Rachael, Kristina, Nicholas, Jacqueline, Shanon, Andrew, Alexis, Kendall, Christopher, & Justin; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family & friends.
James served during the Korean War in the United States Army and was honorably discharged with a Purple Heart. After his service to his country, he married and had a family. During this time, James became an accomplished tool and die maker and started his own business. He worked until his early 80's with more than 50 years of service. As an interest, James was an extremely talented and skilled pool player, often being referred to as a professional. In addition, James had the ability to design and manufacture his own pool cues. One of his fondest memories was when the seven-time World Champion Irving Crane used a pool cue created by him during a pool tournament around 1980. James was also an avid card player and longtime supporter of the Buffalo Bills football team. He was happy to see the Bills beat Kansas City in his final days.
Services will be held on Friday, October 28, at 1:30 pm at White Haven Memorial Park, All Seasons Chapel. A private Celebration of Life dinner will be held for family following the services.
