He is survived by his daughter, Debra Kowanes and son-in-law, Brian Kowanes, sister; Jeanette Lazary, grandson; Justin Thurston and his wife, Shantel Thurston, Wesley Thurston and several nieces and nephews. Jim was an amazing father, brother and grandfather. He had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. He was employed by Hickey Freeman Clothing Factory and many other jobs. He loved Elvis Presley and would listen to his music every chance he got. The Buffalo Bills was his favorite football team and the New York Yankees was his baseball team.
He had a smile that would lighten up a room. He was loved by so many people and will be missed by everyone,
I was very blessed to have such an amazing father and best friend. My love for him will carry on for him in Heaven as well as all of the wonderful memories.
Graveside Service with military honors will be held Thursday, February 11, 20201 at 10AM at Riverside Cemetery 2460 Lake Avenue Rochester, NY.
