Passed away on June 12, 2022 at the age of 77.
Predeceased by his parents, Leon and Emily Slaght; siblings, Irene, Leon, Dorothy Kanous, Jean DeRycke, William, Raymond (Dixie) & David; granddaughter, Holly Barbara Slaght.
He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Barbara; brother, Donald (Carol) Slaght; sister-in-law, Nancy Slaght; children, Robert (Leslie) Slaght, Scott Slaght, Kenneth Slaght, Tina Marie (George Wohlers) Slaght; grandchildren, James Robert Slaght II, Timothy Slaght, Jason Prince, Dean Slaght, Brian Prince, Donald Holberton; great grandson, Brantley Harty; many loved nieces, nephews and close friends.
James was an Army Veteran and a retired postal mechanic of 18 years with the United States Postal Service.
Family will receive friends Friday, June 24th at 2-4 & 7-9PM with a service at 4PM, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Avenue.
Interment at Westside Cemetery, Saturday, June 25th at 12noon. If you would like to ride in procession, please arrive at the funeral home promptly by 11:15AM
