James J. Tumia
May 12, 1923 — November 9, 2017
Rochester: Passed peacefully with family by his side on Thursday, November 9th 2017 at age 94. Predeceased by his wife, Josephine; son, James; great granddaughter, Kristen Tumia; brother, Louis; sisters, Rose Tkac & Marge DiPasquale. Survived by children, Jeanne (Gerald) Andrychuk, John Tumia, Jerry (Tammy) Tumia; daughter-in-law, Patty Tumia; 16 grandchildren & 16 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren with 2 on the way; brother, Sam (Neta) Tumia; sisters, Mary Cermola & Angie Coleman; many nieces & nephews. James was a WWII Air Force Veteran and was a longtime owner of Lyell Plumbing & Heating Co.
Calling Hours will be held from 4:30-8:30 PM on Wednesday, November 15th at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Ave. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 AM on Thursday, November 16th at Holy Cross Church, 4492 Lake Ave. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
