Janet LaMendola Lodice, wife of Paul Marvin & a treasured mother & grandmother, departed this life at her home in Chili on Sunday after a brief battle with cancer. She was 64.
Janet was born in Greece, the daughter of Sarah N. LaMendola & the late Louis A. LaMendola. She graduated from Greece Olympia High School in 1974 as an honor student & attended SUNY Geneseo.
Her family & friends knew her as a loving & selfless woman who always thought about others before herself. Even in her final days, she worried that her illness was inconveniencing those around her. She was invariably sweet & caring, & often goofily funny.
She worked for decades as a floral designer at several florist shops in the Rochester area, & later as a medical records specialist at Rochester General Hospital & one of its physician offices.
Janet is survived by her beloved husband Paul; her mother in Greece; son Jason Lodice (Amy) in Spencerport; daughter Julie Little (Peter) in Disputanta, Va.; brother Bob LaMendola (Debra Gibbs) in Coconut Creek, Fla.; & sisters, Donna Gloor (Richard) in Hilton & Karen Kelly (Joe) in Palm Harbor, Fla.
She had two step-children, Rob Marvin (Elena) & Brooke Daigneault (Rob) of Rochester.
Janet leaves behind 11 wonderful & talented grandchildren, who she loved so dearly. Granddaughter Molly Little passed away in 2015. Also surviving her are nieces Megan Kelly & Kristin Kelly, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends & co-workers.
Janet went to her final rest surrounded by immediate family at the home she & Paul had remodeled & loved.
No Immediate services are planned because of concerns about the coronavirus. A memorial may be held in the future. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Janet's name be made to the children's cancer organization
