WEBSTER- Jean R. Desens, 93, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 23, 2020.
Jean was born in Rochester, NY on July 14, 1926 to the late Edward and Loretta Kerber. On September 27, 1947 she married the love of her life, Richard Desens. They were married for 71 years until his passing in 2019, and together they raised six children. Jean was Irondequoit's first Harvest Queen, but her true beauty came from within. She loved life and lived it through her unselfish gifts of time and patience with anyone she was with, whether family, friend, or stranger. She fought many battles in life. She faced them always with calmness and strength drawn from her faith. She now will be at peace, saling with her husband, with the wind always filling the sails, walking the beach with her grandchildren looking for treasures along the shore, or singing with her sister and all the angels in heaven.
She is predeceased by her husband, Richard, and her siblings, Mary Brown, Don Kerber, and Dick Kerber.
She is survived by her children, Kathy (Jim) Barclay, Mike (Karen) Desens, Donna (Chuck) Merkey, Rick (Terry) Desens, Jenny (Bill) Benedict, and Scott (Charlene) Desens, her 18 grandchildren, her 13 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jean's name to Webster Comfort Care Home, 700 Holt Road, Webster, NY 14580, or the American Heart Association, 25 Circle St, Rochester, NY 14607.
