She passed away peacefully on September 16th at the age of 78.
Joannie was a character, with the best sense of humor. She spread joy through the things she did. She loved her family deeply and enjoyed every moment with them. She loved camping, Bingo night, and midnight snacks. She was so full of life even with her many illnesses. She will truly be missed by everyone who got the chance to meet her.
She was predeceased by her Husband Brian D. Armstrong, parents John and Frances Leary, and brother John Leary.
She was Survived by her dedicated Daughter Suzanne (Stephen) Yost, her favorite granddaughter Tina Yost, great granddaughter Avery Yost, Sister Marie (Norm) Cooper, high rise buddies, and people she's touched along the way.
Calling hours are Tuesday September the 22nd from 4-7pm at New Comer funeral home 2636 Ridgeway Ave Rochester Ny 14626
A Catholic mass will be held Wednesday September 23rd at 10:30am at Sacred Heart Cathedral 296 Flower City Park Rochester NY 14615
Interment to follow at Holy Sepulcher cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking for plants that will live in Joan's memory forever instead of something that will die.
