Joanne Santilli, 80, of Webster, New York, died peacefully on December 28, 2023.
She was born in Florence in 1943 to Angelo and Ada Locci, and immigrated to Rochester, New York with her mother when she was 11 years old. After high school, Joanne joined her mother at the Fashion Park garment factory, as a seamstress. She made lifelong friends there and eventually, she met her future husband, Domenic.
Family was at the center of Joanne's world. She was preceded in death by her daughter Angela Santilli-Sullivan, her beloved husband of 47 years Domenic, brothers Antonio (Anna) and Andrea, Ivo, Bernardo and Emanuele.
She found joy in tending to her garden, bird watching, traveling, cooking and baking for others. Joanne will always be remembered for her skills as a seamstress and exceptional Italian cook. She created beautiful gowns, costumes, clothing and would generously tailor clothes for family and friends. We'll always remember her kindness, beautiful smile and sassy sense of humor. We will miss Joanne every day. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her.
Joanne leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She is survived by her children, Vincent Santilli, Julia Brongo, and Michelle Santilli-Kulik; son-in-law, Matthew Sullivan; grandchildren, RJ, Jordan and Gabriella Brongo, and Max Santilli-Kulik; brother Gabriele Palazzo and sister Franca Cianchi. Joanne is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and great-great nieces across the United States and Italy.

funeral service is January 4, 2024 at 10:00 AM, also at New Comer with interment to follow at Webster Union Cemetery.
