John Joseph Bassford (Johnny)

Peacefully passed in his home in Gates, NY on Thursday 10/27/16 at the age of 55. He was born at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland on 4/24/61. John was always a hard worker with a great compassion for others and willing to help another. He was always working on something. He was constantly moving up in the world while staying humble. John loved his cars and antiques. He enjoyed being outdoors and hunting. Anyone who knew John knew he loved nothing more than "his girls". John will always be remembered as an amazing husband, father, brother, Papa and friend.

John is survived by his loving wife Monica Bassford, his daughter Jonelle (Brandi) Rondo, his three beautiful grand girls Briana, Kaila and Giyana. John is predeceased by his mother Emma G. Ciancio. He is survived by his parent(s) James (Carol) Bassford, his five sisters Theresa, Shirley, Barbara, Dawn and Rebecca, his three brothers Michael, James (Patricia) and Charles (Sheila). He is survived by many loving in laws and nieces and nephews. He was a great man with too many special friends to list.

The family will be holding services on Nov. 2nd from 4-7pm at New Comer funeral home 2636 Ridgeway Avenue. Anyone who would like to come and share memories is more than welcome to speak. The family would like to give great thanks for all the prayers and love from everyone. During this hard time we have received so much support from family, friends, doctors and nurses. Following the service there will be a gathering at his daughter's home for food and to share more great memories. In lieu of flowers please consider the needs of the family or make donations to the Batavia Wilmont Cancer Center.
