John Raymond Countryman

John Countryman, born on June 11, 1940, and cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on January 9, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and dedication.

John enjoyed a long and fulfilling career as a Kodak engineer, dedicating approximately 40 years to his profession. Known for his honest and hardworking demeanor, he approached every task with the utmost devotion, exemplifying a work ethic that many admired.

His service to our country was marked by his time in the Army, where he was stationed in Germany. That experience not only shaped his character but also instilled in him a profound sense of responsibility and commitment to those he cared for.

A man of great humor, John was always ready with a joke or a light-hearted story that could bring a smile to anyone's face. His personality shone through in all aspects of his life. He had a boundless enthusiasm for sports, particularly baseball, which occupied a special place in his heart. His true joy, however, came from spending time with his beloved family.

John’s fond memories include joyful moments spent in the Adirondacks and Florida with his loved ones. He was devoted 100 percent to his family, finding the greatest fulfillment in their company, which included his wife, Linda Countryman; his son, Joel Countryman; his daughter, Julie Bell; and his treasured grandchildren, Kierin, Aidan, Madelyn, and Liam. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who love him dearly. John is predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Anne Countryman; his sisters, Toni and Sue Raymunda; and his brother, George.

John will be remembered not just for his achievements and skills, but for the extraordinary impact he had on those around him. He enriched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him, and his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

John's family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date.
