Greece: Passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Thursday, September 3, 2009 at age 87. He was predeceased by his wife, Ruth (Kuchman); son, Robert J. Flanigan and daughter, Karen Marie Flanigan. He is survived by his daughter, Margaret (Gerald) Owen; grandchildren, Carrie (Clifford) Ashley, Sharon Robistow and Johanna (Christopher) Burns; great-grandchildren, Stephen, Jaime Lynn, Nicole Marie, Tyler, Matthew and Jessica; sister, Mary (Joe) DiDomenico; sisters-in-law, Attracta Flanigan, Agnes (Chet) Polanski, Sr. Mary Christopher S.S.J. and many nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends. John was a retiree of Rochester Products and a WWII Navy Seabee Veteran.
Many loving thanks to the staff of the Mission Unit at Edna Tina Wilson Living Center.
Friends and family may call on Tuesday, September 8th from 4-8 P.M. at New Comer Funeral Home, 2636 Ridgeway Ave. At the request of John please dress casual. A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday at 9 A.M. at Sacred Heart Cathedral. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc. or to the American Heart Assoc. or the American Cancer Assoc.
