Died suddenly Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at age 83. Predeceased by his step-children, James, Edward and Jeanne Shields. Survived by his loving and devoted wife of 50 years, Rose; step-children, Sue (Jack) Herschler, Michael (Linda) Shields, Margaret Shields, Paul David (Jo Ann), Dee (Dan) Garrity; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no prior calling hours. John's Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, June 1st at 11 AM at Peace of Christ Parish at St. Ambrose Church, 25 Empire Blvd. Private Interment. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Heart Association, 3500 Winton Place, Rochester, NY 14623.
