John Masten

John Masten passed away on December 24, 2024 at the age of 66. 

John was born on February 17, 1968 to Thomas Masten and Grace (Valone) Masten, who have both predeceased him. John was a graduate of Webster Schroeder High School. 

He is survived by his brothers, Thomas Masten and David (Laurie) Masten, Godchild and niece Natalia (Aaron) Papowitz. Nephews David Masten and Mark Masten. Former spouse and friend, Natalie Masten. Daughter, Kailee.  Life Partner Maria Tantalo and many dear friends.

John was a passionate golfer and had many friends throughout the Rochester golf community. John was always the life of the party. John was a printer at Diamond Packaging and recently, Hammer Packaging for many years.

The family would like to express special thanks to nurse Cheryl and Dr. Hemminger's team at UR Medicine Home Care for the support and care they provided John over the past few months.

The family will receive friends 3-5:15pm Friday January 10, 2025 at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, 6 Empire Blvd. (next to Donut's Delight). Words of remembrance will begin at 5:15pm following visitation in the funeral home chapel. Interment private.

In lieu of flowers friends may make contributions to St. Jude Children's Hospital in memory of John.
