GREECE- Joseph R. Meli, 73, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2022 surrounded by the love of his family.
Joe was born in Rochester, NY on November 29, 1948, to the late Russell and June Meli. On July 2, 1977 Joe married the love of his life, Mary Jo. They were married for over 40 years and together they raised seven children. Joe attended Elim Bible Institute for 2 years, then went to MCC for an associate degree in Law. He continued to his bachelors degree in Criminal Law at SUNY Brockport. Joe will be remembered for his love of trains, art, painting, music, and spending time with his family.
Joe is predeceased by his daughter, Teri Proietti.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Jo, his children, Tony (Kathy) Proietti, Joey (Megan) Meli, Mandy (Mike) Bootes, Jamie (Ken) Pearsen, Julie (Darrin) All, and Jesse Meli, his siblings, Lorraine Meli, and Dolores Hammond, nephew, Joshua, many grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Ave., Rochester, NY 14626, on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, from 4pm-7pm, with a service to immediately follow.
