Joseph Anthony Vella

GREECE- Joseph A. "Joe" Vella, 92, passed away on Friday, July 9, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.

Joe was born in Rochester, NY on December 8, 1928 to the late Rosario and Maria Vella. Joe served his country honorably in the United States National Guard. On July 29, 1950 Joe married the love of his life, Marie. They were married for over 40 years until her passing in 1996. Together they raised three daughters. Joe was an employee of Eastman Kodak Co. for over 35 years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 52. He will be remembered for his love of Real Estate, bowling, golf, and spending time with his family. His passion in life was his family and friends.

He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Marie, his sister, Theresa (Sam) Grillo, and his in-laws, Lorraine (Richard) Long, Larry Starks, and John Dretto.

He is survived by his daughters, Jeannine (Richard) Vella-Alford, Susan Snyder, Joanne (Jeffrey) Schwallie, his son-in-law, Greg Snyder, his siblings, Carmella Kota, Al Vella, and John (Else) Vella, his grandchildren, Kelly (TJ), Michael, Matthew, Christopher, Taylor, Julianne, and Jessica, his great grand-daughter, Kennedy, many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Ave., Rochester, NY 14626, on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, from 4:00pm-7:00pm, with a service to immediately follow. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at 10am at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Greece, NY.
