Julia Lee England Koopman, the loving wife of Walter Koopman for 63 years, passed away in Rochester, October 7, 2024. Judy, as she was commonly known, was born in Coleman, Texas on February 5, 1943, she met Walter when he was stationed at the Dyess Air Force Base while serving in the U.S. Air Force. As the wife of a military person, she lived in many places including Abilene TX, Palmdale, CA, Las Vegas NV, and for the past several years in Rochester, NY
Judy attended Rochester Institute of Technology and Monroe Community College. She worked for several years at Eastman Kodak and later as a repair technician at IBM. In addition, she was a real estate agent at Nothnagle.
Active in community affairs, Judy served as a volunteer Bible Studies teacher in the Women’s Ministry through the Gates Assembly of God. Judy's family was a meaningful part of her life.
She was predeceased by her siblings Janice, Don and Mack; and her Mother Vera, Father Calvin; sister -in-Law Carol Koopman Levy of OLD SAYBROOK, CT
She is survived by her loving husband, Walter; daughter Donna Koopman, grandchildren Ashley Wimett and Cody Bleier; great-grandchildren Julian, Colton, Cody JR, and Braelon; as well as special Aunts & Uncles, Nephews, Nieces, Sister and Brother -in- law
Family will receive friends on Monday, October 14, 2024, from 10-12pm, with a service at 11am, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Avenue, ROCHESTER
