Brighton - June A. Pehta, 89, passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2019.
June was born in Rochester, NY on August 2, 1930 to the late Marene and Theresa Asbrook. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard W. Pehta for over 60 years, and together they raised three children. June will be remembered for her love of her family, especially her grandchildren. June was active in the Special Olympics for many years, and was a lifelong fan of the Rochester Red Wings.
June is predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard W. Pehta.
She is survived by her children, Deborah (Stewart) Mueller, Barbara (David Mein) Pehta, and Glen (Kelly) Pehta, her two grandchildren, Jonathan (Sarah) Mueller, and Kathryn Mueller, and her faithful and ever-loving canine companion, Sophie.
The family would like to thank all those who cared for June in her own home while allowing her to maintain her dignity over the last several months.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Ave., Rochester, NY 14626, on Friday, October 18, 2019 from 4:00pm-8:00pm with a service to immediately follow. Burial will held at White Haven Memorial Park, Fairport, NY, on Saturday, October 19, 2019, at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in June's name to The Special Olympics, 504 Balltown Road, Schenectady, NY 12304
