Karen Jeanne Curry

Karen (Lund) Curry passed away peacefully on April 24th in Ontario, NY, surrounded by her children and husband.

She is predeceased by her parents, Tormod and Vola (Gartshore) Lund. She is survived by her husband, Orrie Curry, who were married for almost 43 years; her beloved children, Kristen (Victor) Sanchez, Lisa (Marcus) Killingsworth, and Matthew (Hannah) Curry; grandchildren Jake Sanchez, Genevieve Sanchez, and Owen Curry; brothers Marcus (Debbie) Lund and David Lund; and dear cousin Kim (Scott) Rowe and sons Skylar and Keaton Rowe. Karen also leaves behind many friends that were like family, sharing friendships that spanned a lifetime.

Karen grew up in Pittsford, NY, attending Pittsford Sutherland and earning a bachelor's from Geneseo. She met her husband Orrie at Ginna Power Plant and continued her career through a variety of roles at IBM and Kodak.

Karen's smile and laughter would light up a room, and reflected her kind, empathetic soul. Karen loved music, animals, and being outdoors. Karen's greatest love of all was her children. She was a devoted mother and wife and always put her children's needs first. Repeated family trips to Fourth Lake, camping adventures to Watkins Glen, and relaxing at "Camp" after retirement are memories her family will cherish forever. Karen adored her grandchildren and would take every opportunity to show them off. She was graced with a new grandson, Owen, whom she met just before passing.
Karen will be missed, and her memory cherished by all who loved her.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 6 Empire Blvd., Rochester, NY 14609, on Monday, May 1, 2023 from 4pm-6pm. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
