March 5, 1941 — December 16, 2023

Suddenly December 16, 2023

Survived by her daughters, Kristin (Mark) Graupman, Jana Schuster, & Vicki Sweetheimer; grandchildren, Abbie Graupman, Bryn Mulholland, Henry, Amelia, & Ethan Schuster, Emma & Aidan Wirlo; many nieces, nephews, & friends.

Mom and Dad were married 63 years. They were supposed to be together forever. And now they will be.

Mom left us this weekend. But Mom and Dad are together again. It's what they'd always planned. It's the way it should be. They even had a pact that they'd leave together…Dad was never very well-behaved.

Raising us girls was always her priority. She strived to make everything fair and equal. When one of us got a shirt, pants and a pair of socks for Christmas, we all got a shirt, pants and a pair of socks for Christmas. It was a source of humor in our family (and it also meant Sears had a sale on shirts, pants and socks). Fiercely protective of those she loved, you'd know when you crossed the line. A Momma Bear she was to the 10th degree and she made no effort to hide it.

Dad always stuck out. He always got all of the attention. Mom was fine in the shadows. She liked it there. Quiet and the comfort of knowing that she was loved was all she wanted. All she needed. She didn't want to be any trouble to anyone. If you asked her what she needed she'd tell you she was "fine." If you asked her if she was hungry she'd respond by asking if you were. If you asked her if she was cold she'd respond through chattering teeth that she was "fine."

She was in room 7-23 in the hospital after her COVID diagnosis earlier this week and she found comfort in that. It was their anniversary. Dad was watching over her.

Give Dad a hug and snuggle into him for good. Call Corky over and sit under a cozy blanket with a hot cup of tea. Let out a big sigh and let your heart rest. You have nothing more to worry about. You've done your job and you deserve to be at peace.

Love you Momma.
