Sunrise- July 21, 1960 Sunset-March 7, 2022
Kenneth Charles Young passed peacefully from this life on
March 7, 2022. Kenneth was born on July 21, 1960 in
Rochester, New York, the second son of Mattie (Miles) Young
and Ira B. Young. In his early years, he attended Full Gospel
Fellowship Church, officiated under the late Reverend David
H. Hird. Kenny graduated from Benjamin Franklin High
School in 1978 and then attended Monroe Community College
for a brief period of time. After relocating to Albany, New
York, he became a member of Blessed Hope Worship Center,
officiated under Pastor Ronald D. Howard.
Kenny was employed as a custodian by The College of Saint
Rose in Albany, New York since 2008. In his leisure time, he
enjoyed basketball, playing chess, strumming tunes on his
guitars, and studying the holy scriptures. He loved searching
the scriptures to strengthen the strong faith that he had in God.
His positive attitude and convictions sustained him to the end.
Kenny was unswayed by what people thought of him and did
not capitulate to appearances or demand. His carefree attitude,
boisterous laughter, unrestrained free spirit, and generosity
earned him the love of many family members and friends.
Kenneth was predeceased by his father, Ira B. Young and his
older brother, Kelvin Duane Young, Sr. He is survived by: his
mother, Mrs. Mattie Young; his siblings: K. Lynette Hallam
(Shaun), Terence, A. Bernard, I. Stanley, Eric (Vickie), Steven
(Gwen), Judi, Willie Ira, and Roslyn; and a host of sister-inlaws, brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins,
and friends.
Remember Me
To the living, I am gone
To the sorrowful, I will never return
To the angry, I was cheated
But to the happy, I am at peace
And to the faithful, I have never left
I cannot be seen but I can be heard
So as you stand upon a shore, gazing at a beautiful sea—remember me
As you look in awe at the mighty forest and its grand majesty—remember me
As you look at a flower and admire its simplicity—remember me
Remember me in your heart, your thoughts, your memories
Of the times we loved
The times we cried, the times we fought, the times we laughed
For if you always think of me
I will never be gone.
