Kristaq Angjeli, 94, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on December 15, 2021, in Rochester, New York.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Dhimiter Angjeli, and his sister, Erminia Angjeli.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Mirella; daughters Ines Murzaku (Alexander) and Lejda Preza (Dritan); grandchildren Era (Mark), John, Matthew, Ashley and Madison; great granddaughter Julia; nephew Pandeli Angjeli (Eleni), niece Vasilika Angjeli, niece Elvira Opingari (Aleksander) and nephew Aleksander Angjeli (Miranda).
Kristaq was born and raised in Përmet, Albania, and attended the University of Moscow for his undergraduate and graduate studies. He was a Professor and Chair of the Department of Philosophy at the University of Tirana for 40 years, where he taught and mentored generations of students who loved him dearly. He has published hundreds of scholarly articles and has authored three books. He continued his passion for learning and for the study of philosophy well into his retirement.
The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to Elite Home Health Care especially Mrs. Laura Johantgen for their services and care during the last year of Kristaq's life.
A private memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.
