Passed away Monday, December 25, 2006, age 88, at Villa St. Francis Nursing Center, Olathe, KS. Lena was born November 2, 1918 in West Bangor, PA living most her married life in Rochester, NY where she was a seamstress in the garment industry for 32 years before retiring.
She was predeceased by her husband, John Verrone and sisters, Theresa Affronti, Betty Ortolani, and a brother, Albert Scarfaro. She leaves her children, Patricia (Richard) Wootton, Kathleen (Walter) Hauser; sisters, Mary Palma, Katherine Palma; sister-in-law, Florence Scarfaro; grandchildren, Karen (Stephen) Mathes, Gregory (Molly) Wootton, Jennifer Eisenhauer and Eric Eisenhauer; and five great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 11am-1pm on Tuesday, January 2, 2006 at the Newcomer Family Funeral Home, 2636 Ridgeway Ave. Interment will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery following the visitation. The family suggests contributions to Villa St. Francis Nursing Center, 16600 West 126th Street, Olathe, KS 66062.
