Predeceased by his parents, Howard & Doris Burlew.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Catherine Burlew; children, Sharon Burlew, Brian Burlew, Gabriel Burlew & Becca (Jaymes) Cusson; 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Ronnie Burlew; sister, Joyce (Gary) Jordan; many nieces, nephews & cousins. 

LeRoy "Lee" Burlew, born on April , 1943, in the vibrant year that marked the world with hope and renewal, passed away peacefully on November 2,2024, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and deep-seated love for his community and family. Lee's journey through life was a remarkable testament to perseverance and an unwavering spirit, reflecting strength in every endeavor he pursued.

After graduating from high school in Red Creek, Lee sought to expand his knowledge and skills at Mohawk Valley Community College before fulfilling his aspirations at the Rochester Institute of Technology, where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Engineering. This academic foundation paved the way for a distinguished career that spanned over 30 years at Eastman Kodak in Rochester, NY. Lee's expertise further flourished as he went on to work with Lockheed Martin in Liverpool, NY, contributing his talents to impactful projects that showcased his commitment and professionalism.

Lee was not just defined by his professional life; his true passions spanned beyond the workplace. He had an enduring love for music that resonated in the hearts of those who knew him. Whether it was playing instruments or simply enjoying melodies, his affection for music brought joy to his life and those around him. His zest for the outdoors often found him exploring nature, relishing in the beauty that surrounded him.

In addition to his countless professional achievements, Lee made indelible marks through his community involvement. He was a leader of Boy Scouts in Williamson, NY, guiding and inspiring young minds to explore, learn, and grow. His commitment to nurturing the next generation was evident, providing them with invaluable life lessons and creating lasting memories that shaped their futures.

One of Lee's proudest accomplishments, which exemplified his selfless spirit, was his avid volunteer work with Habitat for Humanity. Through this noble endeavor, he helped build homes for those in need, showcasing his unwavering belief in the potential for a better world. His hands were often stained with the labors of love, but his heart was filled with pride for every family that benefited from the houses he helped construct.
