Lilia T. Casilio was born on November 29, 1936, in Celano, Italy Province of L'Aquila, has passed away peacefully in Rochester, New York, on February 1, 2025.
Lilia was a beloved figure to all who knew her. She was the cherished wife of the late Giovanni Casilio, with whom she shared a deep and loving bond that lasted throughout their years together. Lilia was the devoted daughter of Giovanni and Angela Molinelli, and she now joins them in eternal rest, alongside her sisters, Leda Gruttaduria and Joanne Polino, as well as her brother, Frank Molinelli.
Her legacy is carried on by her adoring children: Catherine (Jim) Abel, Elizabeth (Sam) Hogan, Giovanni Jr. (Patty), and Anthony Casilio. Each of them holds precious memories of their mother, who nurtured them with love and guidance. Lilia was particularly proud of her grandchildren—Ryan (Candice), Jason (Eliza) Abel, Jori Lee (Sean) McKenna, Lisa (Joey) DelVecchio, Jennifer Oberlies, and Benjamin (Shannon) Casilio—who brought immense joy to her life, as well as her cherished great-grandchildren, Nick, Charlie, Blakely, Aubrey, and Lyle, whose laughter and spirit lit up her days.
Lilia's family also includes her dear sisters-in-law, Fenizia Cutarella and Connie Casilio, and her brother-in-law, Fiove Casilio, along with several nieces and nephews who were fortunate to have her as their guiding hand and confidante. She also held close relationships with special friends, Margaret Walker and Patty Cooper, who filled her life with laughter and companionship.
As we remember Lilia T. Casilio, we celebrate a life richly lived, marked by the love she shared with her family and friends. Her generosity, warmth, and kindness will be sorely missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
The family would like to give a very special thanks to The Friendly Home; the wonderful staff that took care of her and all their love and support, kindness and compassion.
Lilia preferred that any donations made in her memory go to the charity of your choice.
