Lisa Ann Martin

August 28, 1971 — January 4, 2023

Webster:
Passed away peacefully on January 4th, 2023 at the age of 51, after a long illness. Predeceased by her father, Henry R. Ippolito; father-in-law,Terry W. Martin; uncle, Lee Martin; nephew, Dylan Tatro.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 20 years, Dale Martin; mother, Judi A. (Allan Hammerick) Cummins; mother-in-law, Carol Martin; siblings, Laurie (Michael Tatro) Geringer, Mark (Julia) Ippolito; brother-in-law, Scott (Joanne) Martin; nieces, Gianna Ippolito, Rosanna Ippolito, Haley Geringer and Jenna (Jacob) Finewood; nephews, Jake Geringer, Morgan McCabe, and Ryan (Carly Blake) Martin; great-niece, Willow Martin; great-nephew, Jett Martin; uncle, Leonard (Melanie) Ippolito; cousins, David and Mathew Ippolito.

As a full scholarship and honors graduate of both Nazareth College and SUNY at Brockport, Lisa spent the first part of her career as a social worker. She was a fierce advocate for her clients. Like her father the attorney, Lisa could argue both sides of any issue until you could not even remember what the debate was about. She was a master puzzler, always needing to go to the store to have a few more jigsaws ready in hand. And she loved all animals, especially her American Eskimo "Echo" and her sweet squirrel-chasing "Bella."

When faced with declining health, Lisa refocused her time at home. Never bored, she always had something that needed to be done. She continued to take classes on-line, earning certifications in web design and personal fitness. She played the piano beautifully and shared her gift by giving children beginner lessons. She loved to cook and took great pride in her famous almond puff and record breaking multi-layered Jellos. And she was a cleaning salesperson's dream with her army of vacuums and supplies, always at war with the never ending trail of crumbs left behind by her ever messy husband.

Like a cat with nine lives, Lisa was incredibly resilient. She was remarkably smart. And like Sinatra, she did it her way until she could do no more. She was loved and will be greatly missed.

No prior calling, Private burial. Contributions may be made in Lisa's name to Lollypop Farm, Humane Society of Greater Rochester, 99 Victor Rd Fairport, NY 14450.
