Lois L. Wendl passed from her body of 98 years into the presence of her eternal Savior on August 21, 2022.
Lois was born in 1923 in Buffalo, the youngest child of Paul and Arvilla Stuart. While growing up on a farm in Western New York, she developed an appreciation for animals, gardening, and hard work. Her memories of life on the farm, including the hard work, were a source of pleasure to her to the end of her days.
As an adult, Lois married Norman M. Wendl and settled in Rochester, becoming a resourceful and devoted wife and mother. She and Norman travelled frequently as their children matured. She continued to travel with groups of seniors after Norman passed away.
Also as an adult, Lois came to know and love her Savior, Jesus Christ, whom she served by teaching the Bible to children and ministering to the needs of many. She was a member of Northridge Church and volunteered for years by helping with the Bible correspondence course of Good News Jail and Prison Ministry. She pursued interests in gardening, painting, and writing, committing many of her thoughts and memories to paper through the Pinegrove Creative Writers' Group in Irondequoit.
In addition to her husband, Norman, Lois was predeceased by their daughter, Norma Joyce (Ken) Fritz. She is survived by son Douglas (Ann) Wendl; daughters Carol (Bert) Kuehner and Joanne (Brian) Brady; grandchildren Todd (Sarah) Wendl, Melissa (Toby) Brininger, Nathanael (Rupam) Kuehner, Sarah Clark, Joel (Karen) Kuehner, Jeremy (Sara Jo) Kuehner, Matthew (Kathleen) Brady, Hannah (Benjamin) Espinoza, and Adam (Meaghan) Brady; and 23 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Memories of Lois will continue to provide inspiration and example to her family and friends. "Her children arise and call her blessed" (Proverbs 31:28).
