Loretta Anne Callahan
August 10, 1936 — May 14, 2021
At age 84, Loretta made her transition on May 14, 2021.
She is survived by her beloved partner Les Collins; children, Thomas (Susanne) Scheg, Timothy (Laurie) Scheg, Suzanne (Daniel) Courtney, Mary (Carmelo) Emilio, James (Kathleen) Scheg, Michael (Joelle) Scheg; sister, Carol (John) Engel and many nephews, nieces, grandchildren, great grandchildren and many wonderful friends.
Loretta worked at Legal Assistance of Western New York, as a Senior Paralegal, for 40 years. Loretta was a tireless advocate for countless numbers of Rochester area citizens in urgent need of legal and related services to assist them through many critical life challenges. She truly believes in a civil justice system that is accessible to all.
In addition to advocating, Loretta was equally passionate about her knitting and backyard garden.
We will carry her sweet and loving memory close to us in our hearts.
Friends are invited to call on Tuesday, May 25th from 4-7 pm at Newcomers Funeral Home at 6 Empire Blvd.
Celebration of life/memorial gathering to be held at a later date for friends and family.
