Lorraine H. Beane

GREECE- Lorraine H. Beane, 95, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 surrounded by the love of her family.

Lorraine was born in Rochester, NY on August 25, 1925 to the late Clarence and Hattie Kress. She was the loving wife of the late Arthur Beane until his passing in 2009. Together they raised four children. Lorraine was a devoted homemaker for many years. She went on to work for Agway Gardens, and Green Acre Farms as a landscape designer. She will be remembered for her love of traveling with her husband, cooking, family get-togethers, all of her pets over the years, and gardening. She was a longtime member of the Greece Garden Club. She went on to become a member and pillar of the Greece Historical Society, where she was instrumental in saving many historic buildings in Greece, NY from demolition. She loved her vacations in the Thousand Islands, and later in the Adirondacks on Fourth Lake. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She was one of the "Kress Girls."

She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Arthur Beane.

She is survived by her children, Nancy Beane, Thomas (Lonnie) Beane, James Beane, and Mary Jane (Dave) Bacon, her three grandchildren, Danny (Brooke) Bacon, Michael (Tiffany) Beane, Katrina Gladstone, and Travis Northrup, her two great-grandchildren, Mckenzie Beane, and Vivian Bacon, her siblings, Phyllis (Harry) Curnick, and Carole Mullhern , and many nieces, and nephews' who she loved dearly.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Ave., Rochester, NY on Thursday, November 5, 2020 from 5:00pm-8:00pm. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Saint Marks Church, 54 Kuhn Road, Rochester, NY 14612, on Friday, November 6, 2020 at 11:00am.
