Rochester -On March 16th 2020, Lorraine June Olles (Conklin) passed away peacefully in her hometown of Rochester NY. Since her birth on May 11th, 1919, Lorraine (or "Wella" to many), spent her life spreading optimism, love, and graceful cheer to EVERYONE she encountered. Splitting her lifetime between Rochester and Puerto Rico, Wella built a vast network of loved ones inspired by her spirit and hospitality.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her husbands, Anthony Olles and Fito Arroyo, her sisters, Doreathea, Virginia, and Grace. She is survived by her sister Annabelle (Vic), her Daughter Sandra Sturdy, Grandkids Lindsey (Scott), Evan (Samantha), Great Grandkids Sophia and Cecilia, and nieces/nephews Debi, Cindy (Luis), Marc (Steve) Michael (Ed), Jamie (Deidra), Curt (Brenda), Jeff (Olguita), Loyst (Sharron), and Bruce (Patt), along with her Puerto Rico family Maria, Nydia, Dora, Diane, and countless nietas y nietos. She was Wella to many other families, including the Pennises, Hutchisons, Schallmos, and Phillips.
Wella- We all love you immensely. Enjoy heaven's sunshine, but don't have any fun without us!
Due to the current state of the world, we will be postponing the funeral until a later date. Please continue to check back on the website for any updates. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to Hispanic Federation Unidos (earthquake relief in Guanica) or Open Door Mission Rochester. Wella wouldn't pass a homeless person in Guanica without opening her change purse.
I also encourage you to leave a story in the comments below.
