IRONDEQUOIT- Lorraine F. Opperman, 91, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2019.
Lorraine was born in Rochester, NY on July 23, 1928 to the late Lee and Mildred Feldt. Lorraine graduated from Irondequoit High School in three years. She then was employed by RG&E for five years where she met her husband Chet. They were married in 1949 and together they raised two sons. They were married 39 years until his passing in 1988. She especially loved gardening, crafting, and spending many enjoyable summers at their cabin in Naples, NY. Lorraine will be remembered as a loving and caring mother, wife, partner, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her passion in life was her family to whom she was totally devoted.
Lorraine is predeceased by her beloved husband, Chet.
She is survived by her sons, William (Marcia) Opperman, and Craig (Joween) Opperman, her longtime partner and companion, Leon Kunzer, her grandsons, Ryan (Casandra) Opperman, Matthew (Marisa) Opperman, and Thomas Rund, her great-grandchildren, Chloe, Ciara, and Mason, her brother, Lee (Iris) Feldt, and many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 6 Empire Blvd., Rochester, NY 14609, on Tuesday, December 10, 2019, from 3:00 PM-6:00 PM, with a service to immediately follow.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Lorraine's name to the Alzheimer's Association, Rochester & Finger Lakes Region, 435 E Henrietta Rd, Rochester, NY 14620
