In Loving Memory
Lucas Christopher Wolske
12/03/2016 – 6/22/2017
Lucas Christopher Wolske, aged 6 and a half months, passed away with his parents by his side on June 22nd 2017. Lucas was diagnosed with Down Syndrome at birth and struggled with a congenital heart defect. He bravely fought through two open heart surgeries to become a Heart Hero, dubbed "Lucas the Lionheart" by his family.
Lucas loved spending time with his family, especially his older sister, Maddie. He loved being wherever the action was, whether on his play mat, in someone's arms, or in his bounce chair. Lucas enjoyed watching the leaves from his stroller while on family walks around the neighborhood. He had a wonderful laugh that could be heard when his feet were tickled and a smile that captured the hearts of all that met him. Lucas loved colors and patterns, but mostly he enjoyed being held and sung to. His favorite song was "You are My Sunshine". One of Lucas' favorite activities was to play on his exercise mat while talking to his beautiful reflection in a mirror. He was a "talker" and loved sitting up to have conversations with anyone that would hold him.
Lucas is deeply loved by his mommy and daddy, big sister Maddie, his grandparents, his great-grandparents, his aunts and uncles, his cousins and many others. Lucas will always remain his parents' sweet boy and Maddie's little brother, and they will hold him again in heaven one day.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, June 29th from 4 - 6 PM at New Comer Funeral Home located at 2636 Ridgeway Ave. Rochester, NY 14626 with a short service to follow. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the Flower City Down Syndrome Network or the Ronald McDonald House of Rochester, in honor of Lucas.
