Margaret "Peg" Schied, born on July 23, 1934, departed this life peacefully on September 27, 2024, at Crest Manor in Perinton, New York at age 90. A dedicated educator, Peg made a profound impact throughout her long career, teaching at various Catholic schools, ultimately concluding at St. Ambrose Catholic School. Her commitment to education was evident not only in her endeavors but also in the hearts and minds of the countless children she inspired.
Peg was known for her unique and distinctive personality and ability to live life on her own terms. She found immense joy in teaching, dedicating herself to fostering a nurturing environment that empowered young learners. Her passion for education extended beyond the classroom, as she cherished the camaraderie among her fellow teachers and work associates, forging lasting relationships and connections throughout her career.
Her legacy will resonate through the many lives she touched, as well as the values she instilled in her students. Peg's proudest accomplishment was undoubtedly her role as a teacher, a vocation to which she devoted herself wholeheartedly.
She leaves behind many friends who will remember her fondly for her warmth and dedication to making a difference. Peg is preceded in death by her beloved mother and father, Margaret and George.
As we reflect on Peg's life, we celebrate a remarkable woman whose contributions to education and her community will not be forgotten. She has prepared herself for this transition, moving on to a place of peace and solace, where her spirit will continue to inspire those she left behind.
