Margaret "Peg" Shoniker. Rochester, NY- Heaven gained a true angel. At the age of 70, Peg passed peacefully on Tuesday morning September 15, 2020. She is predeceased by her parents James Sliney and Mary Nesbitt; in-laws Arnold and Anne Shoniker; sister Judith Sliney. She is survived by the love of her life- devoted husband of 49 years- Daniel Shoniker, her children; James Shoniker (Amber Carpenter), Lisa Shoniker (Dan Motz), Sandra Shoniker (Ryan Shannon), her 5 adored grandchildren; Stephanie, Melissa, Samantha, Ben Shoniker, DJ Motz; Great-grandson Kyle Hess; brother John (Ruth) Sliney; brothers and sister- in-law; Tim (Barb) Shoniker, Mike (Maryann) Shoniker, Mary Anne (Rick) Walker. She leaves behind many special nieces and nephews and longtime friends.
Peg was truly one in a million. A smile that lit up every room she walked into. A quick wit and contagious laugh that went along with any story she told. She was a volunteer CYO cheerleading coach at St. Helen's School for over a decade. It was in role this role she was able to share her passion for cheer and served as a true role model who helped shape the lives of so many. She had a beautiful heart and was loyally devoted to her family. She was a loving wife, mother, nana and friend. No matter who you were, you could always count on many laughs and hot coffee served up at her kitchen table. Our lives will forever be changed- how lucky we have all been to have had the privilege of being part of your life.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 9:00am at Holy Cross Church, 4492 Lake Avenue
