Born March 16, 1940 & passed away surrounded by loving family on April 18, 2024 at the age of 84.
Maria was born in Pignataro, Maggiore, Province of Caserta.
Maria is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Umberto Belcastro.
She is predeceased by her parents; Ralph and Rosa Marcello; & brother, Vito Marcello.
Maria is survived by her brothers, Benny (Maria) Marcello, Pasquale (Joy) Marcello Sr.; Sister, Anna (Ronald Sanfilippo), Sister-in-law Elizabeth Marcello children; Cathy (Jeff) Fouchie, Mary, Rose (Kirk) Johnson, Giuseppe (Jennifer) Belcastro, Rita (Eddie) Adamczyk, and Jeanette Desio; grandchildren, Christopher (Lauren) Ross, Joseph (Chelsea) Pickens, Angelina Adamczyk, Alyssa Adamczyk, Vincenzo Desio, Gabriella Desio, Bella Belcastro, Ceara Ross; multiple great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, & relatives in Pignataro Maggiore Caserta and Grottia Reggio Calabria.
Maria was 16 years old when she left all she knew in Italy with her family and moved to the United States. Within a few years, she met her husband, Umberto, who also moved to the States from Reggio Calabria for a better life. After meeting, Maria and Umberto built a legacy and family that is unmatched. This legacy and her memory will live on forever through the beautiful family she created with her husband, made up of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She will be missed immensely and never forgotten through shared memories, love, and family.
Family will receive friends 3-6pm Monday, April 22, 2024 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Avenue. A funeral mass will be held 11am Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at The Parish of the Holy Family, 4100 Lyell Road Rochester, New York 14606. Interment to follow Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 2461 Lake Ave, Rochester, NY 14612.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Maria's honor to the Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center, 2652 Ridgeway Ave, Rochester, NY 14626.
