Maria Luisa Cortes

Maria Luisa Cortes "Luisa" died peacefully at home with her family on April 19, 2021, in Rochester, NY at the age of 75.

Luisa is survived by her children Maribel & Angel Luis; siblings, Carmin, Angelita, Carmen, Jose Luis, Juan, Israel, and Haydee; grandchildren, Rachel, Vanessa, Jessica, Angel Luis; nephews & nieces, Yolanda, Monica, Olvin, Lucy, Damaris, Jose, Iris, Roselyn, Roberto, Elsie, Ñeco, Stephen, Olvia, Enrique, Miguel, Samuel, Jose; great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Kemar, Gabriel, Raelynn. Luisa is preceded in death by siblings, Genero, Juan, Luis, Ana, Harry.

Luisa was born on August 7,1945 in Ponce, Puerto Rico to Rufina and Deogracia. She was a free spirit and loved everyone. Luisa's children and grandchildren were her greatest loves of all. Family meant everything to her, and she was devoted to caring for all of her family from a young age.
Luisa's unique story and sacrifice have shown us to cherish life's moments together. May her life serve as a light to others. Despite her challenges, her greatest gift was love. She will be dearly missed by all who know and love her.

Calling hours are scheduled for April 21, 2021, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, Westside Chapel, 2636 Ridgeway Avenue from 4-7 p.m. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Luisa's life. Burial to take place at Riverside Cemetery 2650 Lake Avenue on April 22, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. led by Associate Pastor Jake Buss.
