ROCHESTER- Maria Cristina Diaz, 66, passed away on Saturday, June 5, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.
Maria was born in Gurabo, Puerto Rico, on July 25, 1954 to the late Agopito Ortiz and Vicenta Calderon Ortiz. Maria will be remembered for her sense of humor, her independence, and work ethic. Her passion in life was her family, and helping others.
Maria is predeceased by her son, Luis Diaz, and her seven brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her husband, Ambrosio Torres, her children, Rafael (Virginia) Gomez, Brenda Gomez, and Johnny (Leslie) Gomez, her grandchildren, Rafael, Angelica, Joshua, Thalia, Leilani, Anthony, Drucila, Adrianna, Jeremiah, Kristina, and Juliana, and her great-grandchildren, Rafael, Isabella, Jeremiah, Josiah, Shea, Serrone, Nikolas, Larrayah, Roquell, Yasuke, Ja'hzire, Ja'hnarie, and Me'siah.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Ave., Rochester, NY 14626, on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, from 10am-11am, with a service to immediately follow. Burial will be held at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Greece, NY.
