Mariann was a devoted wife and mother. She demonstrated her love for God by quietly serving those in her home, church and community. She was raised in Irondequoit. As a teenager she nannied over the summer months developing her love of children. She resided in Rochester, NY, upon marrying Norman. Mariann was a faithful member of Covenant Church (Greece, NY) for 65 years, and served the Lord there in many capacities. She was active in the Women's Missionary Guild & Bible Study, she taught the children's preschool S.S. class for decades, and she was the church financial secretary for 30 years. She enjoyed assisting in the Friendship program to the developmentally disabled from Heritage Christian Home. She was a friend to and provided comfort for those who could not make it to church on a regular basis. She opened her home regularly for hospitality. She was employed by B. Forman Company in the Unit Control Division prior to marriage. When her children were older she worked at McCurdy's Dept. Store part-time and First Federal Savings & Loan (as a teller, a loan officer, and finally as an Assistant Branch Manager) before retiring. Mariann & Norman loved to travel around the U.S. and visited all 50 states. A lady friend introduced her to cruising and she loved it! She enjoyed golfing with her girlfriends, reading, knitting, and working on needlepoint projects.
We know that Mom appreciated the care and compassion of the staff at Edna Tina Wilson so we send them a very special thank you.
