Passed away peacefully, Saturday May 29, 2010 at age 87 with her family at her side. She leaves to cherish wonderful memories, her devoted husband of 66 years, Robert. Beloved children, Bonnie (Jan) Stein, James, David (Jackie); grandchildren, Kevin (Jackie) Gath, Christopher (Nicole) Gath, Laura, Ruth, Sarah & Jon Ives, Jason (Pam) Klotzer. "Grandma the great" to her great-grandchildren Jacob, Ashley, and Matthew Gath; and many loyal friends and neighbors.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who gave her love unconditionally.
Marie graduated from the Park Avenue School of Nursing in 1943, was an American Red Cross Nurse during World War II and was an active member of the Industrial Nursing Association. She Retired for the Churchville-ChiliSchool District as a school nurse in 1997. A scholarship fund has been established for a Churchville-Chili student who has the hearts desire to pursue a nursing or medical career.
Please join the family in a celebration of Marie's life, Sunday, June 6th at 1PM, at The United Methodist Church of North Chili, 2200 Westside Drive. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to, the Marie Ives Nursing Scholarship Fund, in care of Westside Community Federal Credit Union, 125 East Buffalo St., Churchville, NY 14428.
