Passed away on, August 23, 2022 at the age of 86.
Predeceased by her loving husband Richard Gardner.
She is survived by her children, Kurt (Cathy) Gardner, Mark (Linda) Gardner, Peggy (Marty) Veck, and Patty Gardner. Grandchildren: Caitlin (Dr. Henry Lee), Cassidy, Kevin; Danielle (David) Rector, Jimmy, Tianna (Patrick)VanderPloeg; Mavrick; Nika and Dylan. Great-grandchildren: Ariel, McKenzie, Cadence, Jaxon, Andrew, Clayton & Brayden; Heinsler & DeForge siblings & many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Marie was a loving, devoted wife, mother, sister, & aunt, a grandmother of 9 & great grandmother of 7 as well as a true friend.
As a devout catholic she gave her time to the Nuns at St. Joseph Village as a cook for many, many years. Alongside her husband they shared their faith by leading confirmation classes in their home for children from St. Charles for years. Later in life she was a 'prayer warrior' always stating that "all I can do now is pray".
Marie was a Den mother leader in the Boy Scouts. Further, she worked at Barnard Exempt Firemen's Association for many years. Down the road when women were able to become members, Marie did, she was also a life member of Ladies Auxiliary of Barnard Fire Department.
The family would like to give a special Thank You to Doctor Charlene V. Conners for her care and devotion for Marie.
She will be truly missed by one and all - Goodbye for now Mrs.G!
Services will be held Saturday, September 24th at St. Charles Borromeo Church at 9:30am.
